The women in our lives put up with us. That alone deserves an award, or at the very least, chocolate. There are plenty of small things we can do to impress our significant other: sending her flowers for no reason at all, remembering her favorite book from childhood, letting her pick the movie. But why not do something amazing for her? Maybe, just maybe, if you make a romantic gesture that goes above and beyond, that’ll earn you one free pass for forgetting a birthday down the line. That?s the dream.
There is one thing that comes to mind: a trip to Paris.
You know she has dreamed about it and you know she probably deserves it. You think she likes shopping? Take her shopping in Paris. You think she likes nice restaurants? Take her to restaurants in Paris. You think she likes vacations? A trip to Paris is, of course, the ultimate vacation.
This doesn’t have to be just for her, you know. You’ll have a good time, too. In 1950, international tourist arrivals were around 25 million people. Just four years ago that number went up to 980 million and is expected to reach 1.8 billion by 2030. This isn?t happening by coincidence. This is happening because Paris is an amazing travel spot.
If you want to really impress her, simply try pronouncing the word “concierge” correctly. If that doesn?t cut it, how about you take her to dinner at Tour D’Argent (maybe point to it instead of pronouncing this one.) There, you can enjoy the view of the Notre-Dame Cathedral along with some spectacular foods.
Don’t forget about the wine! You’re doing great so far, but if you’re in Paris and she doesn’t get to have any wine, you’ve got problems.
Approximately 24 million people visit the wine regions of Paris (again, there is a reason for this) and wine tourism is one of Paris’s most active industries. You both can enjoy the nectar of the gods in the City of Love. At the famous department store Galeries Lafayette you will find The Wine Library. It’s the Bordeauxtheque, which is 250 square meters that is home to over 1,200 Bordeaux wines.
If you are one of the lucky ones who are blessed with tiny children, don’t worry. There are plenty of activities for kids in Paris, too. There are beautiful carousels all around the city, chocolate croissants almost everywhere you look, a lot of parks and playgrounds, and of course, the Eiffel Tower.
A trip to Paris can be great for her, great for you, and great for the entire family.
Prendre plaisir!
